On Monday, Marnatha Irene Ternier the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) accompanied by Christine Stephenson, Minister of Tourism, participated in the talk “Breakfast Entre Nous” accompanied by several personalities of the Diaspora including Mrs. Maritza Adonis (MTA Visions), Firmin Baker (Haiti Renewal Alliance), Dr. Rudy Moïse (Breakfast with Santa), Dr. Aldy Castor (United Front), Dr. Fritz Fils-Aimé (Haitian-American veteran’s Association) and Gilbert Hyppolite, Speaker of the Haitian-Taiwanese Chamber,

During her speech, Minister Ternier took stock of her actions since her installation at the head of the Ministry as well as ongoing projects to facilitate a better integration of our compatriots from abroad.

From the setting up of the Information Center https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-26070-icihaiti-diaspora-inauguration-of-the-mhave-information-center.html to the Ministry’s Coordination Service, the Minister Ternier wants at any cost to give a new breath to the MHAVE to make it an effective service space for the Diaspora. In addition to technical support, she promises shortly to create a database of skills of the Diaspora to help the country in case of need https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23638-haiti-politic-the-united-front-of-the-diaspora-meets-the-mhave.html a project already mentioned at the MHAVE in February 2018.

The Diaspora personalities present on the panel expressed their desire to accompany the MHAVE in the creation of a database able to allow Haiti to benefit from the services of its sons and daughters moving out evolving outside the country, recalling with force, that the Diaspora represents a development force for Haiti.

For Minister Stephenson, Haiti must be able to resume its place in the region’s tourism scene to attract visitors indicating that in its work plan, she wants to make Haiti the soul of the Caribbean. In addition, she said that in this perspective, to commemorate the 320 years of the city of Cap Haitien and the 200 years of the death of King Henry Christophe, the ministry was working on the Cap 2020 Major Project.
